The view from the top of Table Mountain is a jaw-dropping area, but if you’ve been there and done it, go one step further with an even more spectacular view: an aerial view. Hang out with the famous Boulders Beach penguins on a kayak
As much as we love seeing these comical animals bobbing around the beach, if you want a little more adventure, we suggest grabbing a kayak to get a little closer to the water. The seas around Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula teem with life, so when you set out on a paddle you never know what you’ll see. With the Boulders Beach penguins being a permanent colony, visits are virtually guaranteed, but you may also spot Cape fur seals, dolphins or, between August and October, you may be lucky enough to see whales.

Spend time with the ocean and snorkel with dogs at Seal Island
One of our Africa experts says it’s by far the best thing he’s ever done in his three years in Cape Town, and it’s not hard to see why. Go to Hout Bay and embark on a boat with a guide and captain to get closer to the “dogs of the ocean”. As ridiculous as these animals may look on land, jumping in the water and diving with seals is a truly amazing experience. They transform into a beautiful mix between dog and mermaid, all for the curiosity of a puppy. What more could you want?

Explore Long Beach on horseback
While exploring the Cape Peninsula, you might want to stop at a beach or two to feel the sand and the (very cold) Atlantic Ocean between your toes. However, if a walk on the beach isn’t enough for you, you can instead hop on a horse and onto the biggest beach around, Long Beach (not the fanciest name, we know). The stables have horses suitable for all levels, so whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced rider, they can tailor the whole experience for you.

Wine Tasting and Bike Tour through the Cape Winelands
Cape Winelands has beautiful scenery, fascinating history and culture to discover, warm hospitality and of course the local food and wine is also very wonderful. There are many ways to immerse yourself in all that the Cape Winelands have to offer: a guided driving tour is a great way to sit back, relax and take the worry out of who the designated driver will be on the road to wine tasting. However, going at a slightly slower pace on a bike ride through the vineyards can be really great. Cycling through vineyards and taking more scenic routes between vineyards can be such a satisfying way to explore this beautiful part of the world,
